Confessions of a Clean Eater

The chicken was still hot to the touch as I pulled the meat from the bones. Just out of the steamer was brown rice and carrots. I combined the chicken, rice and carrots with just enough fresh broth to make the trio even tastier. Next, I evenly distributed the yummy mix into three bowls–lean protein, healthy fat and some good carbs–all included as apart of the clean eating lifestyle.

“Here Audrie, here Andie, here Rusty, come get your dinner”, I called from the backyard. Down went the bowls– within minutes, every bite was devoured. Yes, it’s true– our three dogs are also clean eaters. After all, how could I–in good conscience–give our beloved dogs, food filled with byproducts, artificial junk, and everything and anything but quality, nutritious foods? I couldn’t–at least not after learning the benefits of clean eating. And, these three family members are now healthier and happier than ever before.

It’s true that I’m often teased about my de-boning chicken and steaming brown rice and carrots for our dogs….but their good health is worth every second of it.
